In The Arms Of The Angels...

February 7, 2014

My Mom passed away tonight around 9:00pm at the Ira Davenport Hospital.

Mom had fallen a few weeks before and broke her hip. They operated on Mom in Corning Hospital last week and they called her a "Miracle!" But you could tell Mom was hurting real bad. From there they moved her to the Bath Infirmary for rehab...then they took Mom to the ER at the Ira Davenport, that is when Bill called us and told us

Mom knew her time was near so we were on our way to see her before she passed but didn't make it in time. The hospital however let us go in and say our goodbyes to her.

Mom you looked so at peace. You are now in Gods Arms safe from harm, safe from the pain that you were suffering, the loneliness that you felt will be no more.  All of our loved ones in Heaven must have been really happy to see you come home....and you knew that the Good Lord was ready for you..It was also Papa's Heavenly birthday....

We all love you Mom, your memory will live on in our hearts forever.

 Written in Memory of
Joan C Blank

WOW....
where do you begin to tell the story of a life lived and loves lost. Well I guess I would have to start with the woman Mom was not only on the outside but the beautiful woman she was on the inside.
Lot of people knew Mom as kind of... brassy, outspoken, tenasis to mention a few but that was lifes footprints that made Mom have those characteristics....In other words Mom was a SURVIVOR!
Survivor of Loves lost, dreams unfulfilled and way too many regrets to just name a few. Yet in Moms heart there lived a PRINCESS...

In Memory Of Our Grandma

Grandma, I thought this day would never come,
You were my Hero you were my grandmother,
You provided your protection and your guidance,
Not only to me but to so many others.
You always did the best that you could
And you always gave the best,
We will always remember your words,
For we were the ones truly blessed.

We will remember the times you made us laugh,
And the times you made us cry,
We will remember how you lived,
And the look of your caring eyes.
I will miss the touch of your soft hands
And the way they healed my heart,
I will remember your beautiful smile,
And your sense of humor, was a world apart.
We will miss the sound of your voice,
And the directions you always gave,
You'd tell us to always be strong,
And you'd tell us to always to behave.
I will miss the stories you would share,
And the long talks at your kitchen table,
I will miss the happiness you showed,
With every new grandchild you cradled.

Grandma, You will be sadly missed,
But in our hearts you will forever live,
In our time of sorrow and pain,
Memories of your strength we will now relive.
Our hearts may be heavy
And we may shed many tears,
But our spirit rejoices, for you are with God.
And now you have nothing to fear,
No more worries, no more sorrows,
No more hurt and no more pain,
In the kingdom of Heaven you now stand,
Our love for you will forever remain.

To our grandmother, just like a mother,
to our sister, and auntie, To our friend,
and to our dear dear loved one,
We thank you for your time, for your love,
for your lessons, For your kindness,
compassion and your love.
Now your job is done!
WE ALL LOVE YOU!!!

(My brothers Bill and Kevin put the "Thank You"
together and had it placed in the Steuben Courier.)

Looking Back...

Mom,

Looking back through the years,
I remember your love being there
for me even during the times when
I was too busy to listen, trying
so hard to grow up on my own,
thinking I knew all the answers.

I just want you to know that during
the many times you tried to offer
advice and encouragement,
I really was listening in my own way,
and I appreciate all that you've
done to help shape me into the
person I am today.

Through it all you've been my
inspiration, and there's no way to
tell you how grateful I am, except
to say, I love you.

Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a
time. Accepting hardship
as a pathway to peace.
Taking, as Jesus did, this
sinful world as it is, not
as I would have it.
Trusting that You will make
all things right if I
surrender to Your will.
So that I may be reasonably
happy in this life and
supremely happy with You
forever in the next.
Amen.

 Matthew West ~ Family Tree

Always Remember
Never take a person for granted,
hold every person close to your heart
cause you might wake up one day
and realize that you've lost a diamond
while you were too busy collecting stones.
And
"The best things in life are...
not seen but felt with the heart!"

Happy Heavenly Birthday Ryan.....

There’s an elephant in the room.

There’s an elephant in the room.
It is large and squatting,
so it is hard to get around it.

Yet, we squeeze by with,
"how are you" and "I’m fine..."
and a thousand other forms of
trivial chatter.
we talk about everything else
except the elephant in the room.

We all know it’s there.
We are thinking about the
elephant as we talk.

It is constantly on our minds.
For you see, it is a very
big elephant.
But we do not talk about
the elephant in the room.

Oh, please, somebody say
my child’s name
Oh, please, say it again
Oh, please, let’s talk about
the elephant in the room.

For if we talk about their death,
perhaps we can talk about
their life.

Can I say their name...
and not have you look away?
For if I cannot,
you are leaving me alone...
In a room...
with an elephant.

Lawsuit Challenges Wisconsin Fetal Protection Measure Known as “Cocaine Mom” Act | The Partnership at Drugfree.org

For the babies sake and the Mothers.....This should be Law in EVERY State, except it should be more like a facility that houses these women and can help them get clean!!!!! Jail would not do that, it would cause more harm than good. These children are our future, why wouldn't it be important enough to help them!

Update on RyRy's Health...

Well RyRy has an Upper Respiratory Infection and an Ear Infection.  They can't give him antibiotics for the URI because it is caused by a virus, but they can give him medicine for his ear infection.
So last night was the very first night that RyRy didn't run a fever of 103.2....which really seemed great and he slept the whole night thru.   The Dr. said he could go back to school on Monday....he has been out for a week.  All I can say is Thank you LORD!  And of course Thank you Doctors and Nurses....God Bless You.

Of course you can't be around a sick child without getting a little sick yourself....so Grandpa and I are doctoring a sore throat, headache, cough and some more unpleasantness of being sick.  Needless to say life must go on.....so while it does I will be
kicking back with a cup of chai latte tea (oh so good) and well poor Grandpa well he continues to go to work in spite of it all, the man is a workhorse....God Bless Him.  He never cease to amaze us. But as he would say it, "I do it because I Love You!"

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

It is just gorgeous outside....

Just wish we felt it inside here....RyRy has been sick since last week.  What a week it was....Talk with the Law Guardian, Family Court, Anniversary, Birthday, Parent/Teacher Conference and Picture Day!  With all this going on this child seems to have a cough that just won't go away.  I believe or at least am thinking he will have to go back to having breathing treatments again.  People who say "You love him!"....Well without mentioning any names for you know who you are......you really need to quit smoking around him...especially since you know that he has asthma and the Judge told everyone to not smoke around him!!!!   I will take him to the Dr.s again....seems like every time you turn around this poor child just doesn't get a break.  My heart goes out to him....Love ya buddy...Nana is trying really hard to get you back on your feet!

JUST A BOX OF CRAYONS

JUST A BOX OF CRAYONS

While walking in a toy store
The day before today,
I over heard a Crayon Box
With many things to say.

"I don't like red!" said Yellow.
And Green said, "Nor do I!"
And no one here likes Orange,
But no one knows quite why.

"We are a box of crayons
that really doesn't get along,"
Said Blue to all the others.
"Something here is wrong!"

Well, I bought that box of crayons
And took it home with me.
And laid out all the crayons
So the crayons could all see.

They watched me as I colored
With Red and Blue and Green.
And Black and White and Orange
And every color in between.

They watched as Green became the grass
And Blue became the sky.
The Yellow sun was shining bright
On White clouds drifting by.

Colors changing as they touched,
Becoming something new.
They watched me as I colored.
They watched till I was through.

And when I'd finally finished,
I began to walk away.
And as I did the Crayon box.

Had something more to say........
"I do like Red! " said the Yellow.
And Green said, "So do I !"
And Blue you are terrific!

"So high up in the sky."
"We are a Box of Crayons
Each of us unique,
And when we get together.

The picture is complete"

Wow It's Labor Day Weekend already.....

MAKING FRIENDS

If nobody smiled and nobody
cheered and nobody helped us along;
If every man looked after himself
and good things all went to the strong;
If nobody cared just a little for you,
and nobody thought about me
And we all stood alone in the battle
of life, what a dreary old world this would be!

Life is sweet because of the friends we've made.
All things in common we share.
We want to live on, not because of ourselves,
but because of the people who care.
It's giving and doing for somebody else
on that all life's splendor depends;
And the joy of the world when you sum it all up,
is formed in the making of friends.

Your Future Ex-Husband.....

The best way to avoid divorce,
even before you get married, is
to understand the power of the
"R" word, i.e., rationalization.
This is the process of trying to
create a sense of logic for
something that we know is wrong.
Oftentimes it is the quicksand
that devours our ability to
reason in the first few weeks
and months of dating.
When someone asks me to describe
my new book, How to Recognize
Your Future Ex-Husband in two
sentences or less, this is what
I tell them. The essence of the
book is about understanding the
rationalization process and how
it obstructs our ability to
identify the early warning signs
of trouble ahead.

Here are three of the numerous
"domains" of dating where
rationalization shows up most
 frequently:

Anger: A man who is too angry
too often (and too early in the
relationship) may be emotionally
unstable. Anger can make us feel
less vulnerable and will often
impersonate intimacy. Genuine
intimacy is about trust and
feeling safe, and it is
impossible to experience either
with someone who is angry most
of the time. Rage should never
be a first-line response. So
don't try to spin it like his
ease in expressing anger is
indicative of how he feels close
enough to be authentic. In fact,
if he says something like this
to you--run--he is definitely a
future ex-husband!

Boundaries: While the nature of
romance is about the blurring of
boundaries (two become one,
etc.), it is very important to
establish boundaries early on
because they ultimately provide
a solid foundation in which to
cultivate a deeper commitment.

One time a friend of mine was
dating a man who constantly ate
off of her plate and sipped her
wine whenever they went out to
eat. On the first date she
politely told him that she was a
bit germ-phobic and didn't like
to share her food or drink. This
admission made him feel hurt and
put-off, so instead of
respecting her request, he
continued to sip her Pinot Noir
and munch on her pickles and
coleslaw. Don't rationalize that
this isn't a big deal in
relation to all of the other
wonderful things he does for
you. What is most important here
is his response to your stated
preference. If he doesn't
respect it, he is definitely a
future ex-husband.

Money: In our culture, money is
the code word for love and
power, and we often worship
wealth with complete disregard
to character. Rich people can be
stingy, and often cannot give
easily of themselves
emotionally. What seems
tolerable in the beginning
becomes a source of conflict
later on. The other side the
coin is buying gifts and
showing-off. An expensive piece
of jewelry on the third date
should trigger an alarm. Again,
don't rationalize that he is
simply a generous person who
shouldn't be demonized for
having affluent tastes. His
showering you with baubles or
pricey dinners is more about
him, and what he needs to do to
feel good about him. This is a
signal that there may be a huge
amount of narcissism looming--a
definite marker of future "ex-
ness."

There are many more examples of
how this process and the
destruction that it leaves in
its path. However, it can be
averted. If you have been
divorced or repeatedly
disappointed in love, it is
important to understand how and
why you succumb to the
rationalization process so
easily. Here, awareness is
everything and can quickly halt
unproductive behavior patterns.

Let's practice. If on the first
date he says something like
"will the children have your
nose or mine?"--excuse yourself
politely, call your best friend,
and say "I think I've just
recognized my future ex-huband!"

Keep Believing....

Believing in Yourself

There may be days
when you get up in the morning
and things aren't the way
you had hoped they would be.

That's when you have to
tell yourself that things will get better.
There are times when people
disappoint you and let you down.

But those are the times
when you must remind yourself
to trust your own judgments and opinions,
to keep your life focused on believing in yourself.

There will be challenges to face
and changes to make in your life,
and it is up to you to accept them.

Constantly keep yourself headed
in the right direction for you.
It may not be easy at times,
but in those times of struggle
you will find a stronger sense of who you are.

So when the days come that are filled
with frustration and unexpected responsibilities,
remember to believe in yourself
and all you want your life to be.

Because the challenges and changes
will only help you to find the goals
that you know are meant to come true for you.

Keep Believing in Yourself!
