We cried out.....Morgan.....Where are you....
Yesterday my grandson Ryan and I were heading off to the Laundromat to do a couple loads of laundry up on the boulevard. We headed out the back door and realized that our dog Morgan wasn't on her chain. My first thought was that she is just too darn old to have broken away the metal from the connection to her collar. Needless to say, Ryan and started calling for her and looking around. I loaded up the car with the laundry and drove the car around to see if we could spot her. I had no luck so I headed to the Laundromat on the Boulevard up by the Post Office.
All the time thinking where the heck could she have gone. She has never left our back yard ever and if she ever did her first stop always was our front steps. You see Morgan was born in April of 2005, we got her in Rochester, NY in June of 2005. So she is very old and her back legs go out on her often now. I prayed that she wouldn't get hit by a car. Wasn't long before we returned and as I drove back into our driveway, I turned to hear our neighbors (Grace Greenawalt and her son Paul) across the street holler over...found your dog!!!! She was over on 70th....Two police officers, brought her back. Thank goodness that Morgan had her tags on her collar and they called the number on it and was told all the information that they needed to bring her back. And since she had broken her collar away from her leash our next-door neighbor (Bob Critelli) hooked her up real good. Thank you everyone involved in bringing Morgan back safe and for those that helped the officers with any questions that they needed answered.
I had received a text but never looked at my phone till around 8:50pm that evening, to find that Officer Don Booth, NFPD/Animal Control Department had left a voicemail for me to tell me how I could reach him about Morgan. I also received a voicemail from Phoenix, Arizona telling me they were the people that the Officer had called in referencing Morgan's tags. She also mention how to get ahold of the Officer as well. I did call the number that was in my voicemail and I told the dispatcher to please Thank Officer Don Booth for all his help, concern and care in finding our Morgan. God Bless You All.
Below is a photo of our sweet Morgan back in 2010, she is a beauty. Even though she is in her latter years now Morgan will always be this beautiful girl to Ryan and I.
